Master of Plaster: Stephen Antonson

Stephen Antonson is the "Master of Plaster". The designer furniture, lighting and decorative accessories are available to the trade only through Dessin Fournir. Interior Designer Michael Smith, is currently redecorating portions of the White House recently and Smith commissioned a custom piece by Antonson for the White House. Smith and Antonson took an antique Queen Anne table and covered it in plaster. Talk about a modern update for an iconic piece!

I have had the pleasure of working with Stephen the past few months designing a massive custom designed chandelier, lanterns, a mirror, and side table all for a client's vacation home. He is a true artist and visionary and I covet all of his pieces! Once the house it complete, I will do a follow up post on the entire process including my sketches and images of his prototypes, as well as the final installation. If I play my cards right I hope to score an invitation to his studio so I can mess up my manicure and play in some plaster myself. Stay tuned!

Here are images of items from his designer line at Dessin Fournir

Snowy in Chicago

There was no white Christmas this year and there hasn't been a big snow in New York either. I had to travel to Chicago to get my first fill of fluffy, puffy, pristine snow flakes. Here are some images to inspire you....

Honoring Bama's BCS National Championship Win with Houndstooth

As much as I wish I could claim that I watched every play of last night's national championship college football game, you all know that I would be completely lying. I did watch a majority of it; mostly because my boyfriend kept me on my toes by quizzing me throughout the night via text messaging me and asking me what the score was.

In honor of Bama's domination over LSU, I am presenting you with some fun houndstooth patterns inspired by Alabama's most iconic coach, Bear Bryant and his signature hounds tooth fedora.

You can't go wrong with the classic BLACK & WHITE houndstooth...

Or maybe you want a modern update with a colorful houndstooth?
