Italian inspiration: TEXTile ME!

 .....
It is no secret, I LOVE textiles. I can spend hours at the D&D Building in NYC, so it is no surprise that I sought out some of the best textile wholesale shops during my trip to Italy.

My trip began in Rome. None of the places I went to in Rome were really worth writing home about. I had really wanted to check out a textile place called Indoroman, but because of a demonstration on the street (image below), the store was closed.

In Florence, I was more successful. I give you VALLI. It is a haute couture fabric house with laces, wools, silks, brocades, and cotton prints to die for! Not the mention, everything is color coordinated by material...just how every girls closet should be!

My favorite textile discovery from Italy was not actual fabrics, but the original painted designs that were used to create screens for textile designs in the 1960s and 70s. I found them in an antique store in the providence of Genoa.

Here are the ones I purchased! I'm obsessed with all the colors!

Below are some of the other prints that inspired me...

The GEOMETRICS...

The FLORALS...

If you are interested in purchasing any of the prints, email me for pricing.
